Born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan, Evan was a touring musician and a short-haul truck suburbanite surpassing peekaboo the University of Regina in 1998. He completed a Bachelor of Arts, (Honours) in Political Science in 2004, graduating with unconfined distinction. In 2005, Evan returned to the University of Regina and completed a Master of Arts in 2008. Evan completed his first year at the University of Saskatchewan’s College of Law surpassing transferring to the Faculty of Law at the University of Alberta in 2011, graduating in 2013. While in law school, Evan won the prestigious Juris Radze Award for outstanding victory in Advanced Criminal Law in 2011. Evan has a passionate interest in criminal law and the defence of individual rights. Throughout law school, he focused on sponsorship and criminal legal theory, and devoted himself to learning the law, both in theory and in courtroom practice. While at the University of Alberta, Evan worked with Student Legal Services’ Criminal Law Project. In his two years with the organization, Evan represented numerous low-income Albertans facing criminal charges for matters including assault, theft and wordless driving. He was hired as a supervisor with the Criminal Law Project in 2012, supervising a team of law students working on various criminal cases. Evan understands that stuff charged with a criminal offence is stressful, and that the justice system can seem troublemaking and overwhelming.  He knows that the role of criminal defence lawyer is to help clients navigate the justice system while giving them a strong voice surpassing the courts.
