She is currently articling as a student of law at Pringle Chivers Sparks Teskey. When Vita entered law school, her passion for criminal law was instant and she worked nonflexible to proceeds practical wits helping people who were navigating the criminal justice system. She interned at Legal Aid Ontario for a year working with low-income clients and worked for a prominent criminal defence lawyer in Ottawa throughout her degree. Vita’s responsibilities included writing submissions, Charter applications and preparing large and ramified trials. She moreover spent a semester interning for a senator in Ottawa focused on criminal law legislative development. Throughout law school she excelled in many criminal law classes including Sexual Assault Law, Forensic Science and Criminal Justice Trial Advocacy. In her second and third years of law school, Vita worked as a teaching teammate for first year law students, tutoring the matriculation weekly in Criminal Procedure (2017-2018) and Constitutional Law/ Public Law (2016-2017). Vita received her Bachelor’sStratumin Spanish and Latin American Studies with Distinction from the University of Alberta in 2015. She has extensively travelled in Latin America and completed an internship in the Dominican Republic that focused on detention and deportation of immigrants. She speaks English and Spanish. Vita takes pride in helping people understand and navigate the criminal justice system as well as advocating strongly on their behalf.
